Bonjour Boris and the SNA GZ team,
My name is Tim Baltes. Curtis Courtemanche recently spoke with you about me. I’m an American who moved from Chicago to Nantes on a spousal visa, as my wife is French. I have worked in marketing, social media, music, and more. Now, I’m seeking a job in France, and I’d love to discuss if SNA GZ has any opportunities that may benefit us. My level of the French language is A2/B1, which limits what work I can do in France, but I am dedicated to continuing to learn this language. I want to build a life in France. I want to become French. And with this change, I am open to changing careers, whether that means learn a skill to work in a factory or anything else.
My professional experience includes:
I have worked nearly 10 years in corporate marketing environments, writing/editing/proofreading copy, managing a design team, and serving in multi-departmental project management roles. I’ve written marketing copy for Roland’s Juno-X and the AIRA Compact series, and I’ve ghost-written articles published in 90 million printed catalogs for $10 billion shipping supplies distributor Uline .
l have worked almost 15 combined years in managing music performance social media channels for both influencers and brands. I’ve produced video content with pro-level audio for companies like Vic Firth, who has reposted some of my content, and I’ve even worked with Zildjian to create videos for various marketing campaigns. I’ve collaborated with prominent influencers like RDavidR to create segments for videos like this, which have yielded 300,000 views on YouTube. And I’ve worked with educators like Dimitri Fantini on video sales letters, email campaigns, and more. Dimitri has even featured my products in this YouTube video, where he talks about my practice tracks for drummers, which have over 1,000,000 streams on Bandcamp due to an innovative marketing approach.
I have played the drums for over 20 years, supporting local musicians with their pro sound needs while working in music retail operations. While working in operations at a store for used musical instruments, I increased sales from $750,000 to $1,200,000 in five years, while increasing the gross profit margin by over ten percent. I’ve also recorded drums on music for Disney, 21st Century Fox (for television shows and movies) and on video game soundtracks for producers like Zynga. Plus, I continue posting video content for nearly 50,000 followers on Instagram today.
These experiences have taught me a lot about what I want in a career, and one of those things is to find a “career home.” In English, this means means finding one company that you can work with for 20 to 30 years or more. While the American trend is to “job hop,” changing jobs every one to two years, I’ve done the opposite. On my resume, you’ll see what I worked for Music Go Round for five years, but I also continued to have a professional relationship with that company until I left the United States. I’d like to find a team like that here in France.
Working at Music Go Round was an extension of my love for music. I have been a musician since I was 8 years old, and I have been playing concerts with bands since I was 12 years old. As an adult, I have turned this love into a business with a unique marketing approach. If your business needs a marketing expert, I can help you with this. And if your company is seeking a hard-working employee who is driven, creative, and who knows how to solve problems, I can do that in any job. Check this out!
Over the past seven years, I’ve released over 1,000 drumless loops, and I created a new way to get this product to the entire world of drummers. Drumless loops (or drumless practice tracks) are music arrangements that do not include drums, so they can be used to practice drums and for a variety of other purposes. One additional use-case is that drummers can use my royalty free loops to create videos for YouTube, Instagram, or other social media platforms. So, I simply ask that people tag me in their social media posts, which means that drummers download my product, make videos, and tag me in their social media posts. That recruits new customers through organic reach, and this cycle continues, as more and more new customers keep making new video content with my drumless loops. This has yielded over 1,000,000 streams on Bandcamp and I’ve sold my product in every continent except Antarctica.
I believe in the power of YouTube and long-form video as a foundational marketing technique. And while I am still learning French, I think that my English language marketing background provides me with the tools to help your team reach customers, whether your company seeks to reach musical groups, record labels, or businesses that are generally looking to manufacture merchandise here in France.
I’ve created YouTube videos in the past. I understand how to write an engaging script. And I understand how to create effective thumbnails, video titles, and video descriptions. In the niche world of drumming, my YouTube channel gained over 100,000 views in the first six months because of videos like this.
I can offer a new perspective on the “YouTube Game” to get more eyes on SNA GZ and to find the correct viewers for your videos based on your customer profile. Your company has a great website that clearly explains who SNA GZ is and how your company can help build any customer’s business. If you choose to produce new marketing videos that you can release on YouTube, explore other recurring video series with low production costs, and optimize the data supporting those videos (like video descriptions, tagging, etc.), SNA GZ has an opportunity to organically reach your target audience, to better educate them on the ease of use of your manufacturing solutions, and to entice potential buyers with things like celebrity features, use-case demonstrations, and more.
SNA GZ already has an incredible list of customers, like Universal Music Group, Evian, Rock En Seine, and more. With my background, I can provide your company with a unique perspective and skillset to continue attracting these clients from your factory in Tourouvre.
Thank you for reading more about me and my professional experience. I would love the opportunity to put my skills and my passions to work with your team, whether that’s in a marketing role, an operations role, or in a factory role. Please see my resume below and find my LinkedIn here; and if you would like to speak with me more, please reach out via telephone at +33 07 85 43 98 90 or via email at tim.baltes@gmail.com.

Cordially,
Tim Baltes
